Week 2, 2024: Other People's Weeknotes

Hello internet friends,

first of all: thank you for the nice feedback for last week's notes. (And for the last one that I sent out with Tinyletter last year.) It was very nice to hear from all of you.

This week was dominated by a trip up north - the corporate parent of my employer invited everybody to come to their big internal Kick-Off conference. The boring adult part of me was actually interested in what they actually had to say. But mostly it was a good reason to hang out with colleagues old and new, as some of them didn't make it to our Christmas party last year.
Not to mention that being up there always means dinner with friends, so that's big plus.

Writing week notes isn't all that original an idea. Many bloggers have them and while each of them have their own personality, most of them follow the same pattern: types words in a blog post. So it is really fun to find some that have their own special style and find some other way of expressing themselves.

I saw this one by anhvn (@latte@mastodon.online) and thought it is the bee's knees: Weeknotes 9 (fun comic edition) Such a great combination of different skills.

One of the longest running weekly blogs and at the same time one of the most unique ones are the Jennifer Mills News. Every post is in the form of an old newspaper and she has been doing that for 22 years. I am in absolute awe.

The New Yorker has a great little nostalgia piece for those of us who grew up on the dawn of the social internet. While I wasn't active on most of the services the author mentions and never ended up producing content as a job (thank god) a lot of things still resonate with me quite a lot.

That's it for this week - thanks for reading!

Toodles
