Week 18, 2024: Consume, Consume, Consume
Hello internet friends,
That week went by pretty quick - the work week felt a bit off due to the first of may being right in the middle of it and looking at my calendar, I'm not sure things will be much different until some time in June. And by then I might want to take a day off or two to be in the mountains, we'll see.
Over the weekend I went up to the Hockenheimring with my dad to look at old cars. That was good fun - I was mostly fascinated by the cars and my dad was fascinated that most drivers were closer to his age than to mine. Good times.
Meanwhile I proudly announced that I'm glad that I don't have the genes for addiction. Knowing full well that I had to uninstall Tiktok or I'd be scrolling all day long. And now I'm doing the same bullshit on Instagram reels and it's the worst. I didn't really read anything on the web but oh boy have I seen many videos were some accident suddenly cuts to a store advert.
In general I'm usually fluctuating between times where I prefer to create (which in my case tends to be futzing around with my website) and to consume and right now I am very clearly in the consume circle. But at least my media diet includes some books even if they're not good at all.
Let's see how long this lasts and I actually get myself to do stuff again.
(Just in case it wasn't clear: the last two paragraphs were my way of saying: I've got no links for you this week. If you're bored, maybe go watch Fern Brady's comedy special on Netflix, she's funny. Or Sugar on Apple TV+, that's a weird one that I'd probably had missed if Teymur hadn't told me repeatedly to give it a try.)
Take care, see you next week. Toodles!
