SeptembER: There's a new game in the works?! Spooktober edition! šš«¢
Hey! Last month was probably the month in which I got sick twice (coughing non-stop and then, a severe tummy ache) š·šµāš« so, no wonder the progress on my games slowed down this past month. š«”
But now Iām much better! And!! Iāve decided to join Spooktober this year too!!
1. About āLove, Iām not good for youā

I havenāt done much art-related (due to me being sick š·) but hereās a happy cat waving its paw! Itās gonna be a sticker used for EP1. Iām also working on this secret file for this-one-app I mentioned last time. Itās the last app I need to finish before moving on to EP2 (finally!).
This past month has been mostly about programmingā everything behind the scenes, so thereās not much I can show you. But! Remember when I said I was worried about a certain mechanic behind this-one-app? Well, I was able to do it! š There was a GOOD renpy tutorial about it and it helped me A LOT!
Now, I just need to finish this-one-art asset Iāve been showing progress on my YouTube Shorts! Hereās the last one!
Soon, thereāll be a full speedpainting video about it but for now, these Shorts will do! ^^
The writing has also been going through some interesting changes! š Not so much a change of the plot (nope! thatās already settled!) but like, giving you more room to know these characters (the protagonists!).
Youāll see when you play it, hehe! š„°š
2. A new BIG update to āDonāt touch the cat!ā

There are no new endings this time! Sorry! š
(I was tempted to add a new ending but! after thinking about it, I ended up deciding that, with only these 4 endings, you can understand the whole story!)
One of the changes you notice right away when you play the game is, ofc, about the backgrounds. These have improved A LOT. I had to, basically, edit the photos from almost zero again. These two backgrounds (there are just two!) are not just stock photos with filters, I had to edit them to change it into what I needed it.
In fact, in the image above, the gray background is not even a photo! I made it myself from scratch (I couldnāt find a stock photo that would fit with the other BGā see below), so it took me A WHILE to change the BGs. šš«”

But!
The most important change, out of everything, is that NOW the comments you get from our MC Adrian are no longer small timed notify boxes!
NOW, they are speech bubbles!
Before, these comments appeared at the top-right corner of the screen and for a limited time. Which limited my way to show how our MC sees everything. š¤ I wanted to add more about his thoughts but I didnāt have the knowledge to code it back thenā¦
But now I can! āØ

So now thereās more than just one comment when you touch ANYTHING you see on the screen with the hand! ^^

"Don't touch the cat!" is a mystery, psychological horror game about, well, cats! And a guy on his first day at work! It's a really short game, it takes around 20-30 mins to get all endings. It has 4 endings! And, well, try not touching the cat?*
If you didnāt know, this was actually my entry for Spooktober 2023 but, sadly, I didnāt make it in time :C But! I decided to finish it anyways!

The reason for this is because I was debating about what game idea to work on for this jam. I actually had this-one-idea that began with the O2A2 jam of this year BUT, in the end, I didnāt enter that jam bc the idea wouldnāt fit the 1k script criteria :c (when you read the outline, youāll know WHY it wouldnāt fit hahaha;;;;)
And later, when the Spooktober jam started, I thought only completed games were allowed, which is why I gave myself 3-4 days to think of another game idea to work with or try my best to finish the previous idea. Later, I had to give up on that old idea bc it was simply TOO much for one person to finish it in one month. šš
BUT!
It turns out you can actually submit imcomplete works! You can publish just an Episode or Demos of your game!

Game idea: It's gonna be BoysLove Murder Mystery! Itās gonna feature a married gay couple trying to find out who killed someone! Also, a family reunion gone wrong?! š«Øš«¢
