March: Oh my god, an actual newsletter this time?! Really?!
YES! Really!
I know, it's been 2 months already since I last sent a newsletter but that's because I've been incredibly busy this whole time! ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ซก Let's see what I've been suffering doing! ๐
1) So that happened: I moved from Substack to Buttondown!
As you know, I decided to move platforms last month. You can read it all here if you haven't already. It took me A WHILE to find an alternative that was easy and simple to import my posts from Substack.
At first, I thought I had found one with Brevo but later, I realized that Brevo was more of a marketing platform that offered, yes, a newsletter service... but also many others things that I wasn't interested at all. So after that, I had to look for another platform again that was focused on newsletters only.
And that's when I found Buttondown.
It was SO easy to import everything from Substack and the text editor here is SO simple to use! I'm SO glad I could find a pretty good alternative! ^^
So, here I am now! ๐๐ซก
2) Love, I'm not good for you: DEMO release
I tried my best to release the demo by February (or March) but I couldn't in the end. ๐ค There was [something] I wasn't planning to add to the demo but... but then, I thought it wouldn't be the same without this [something]. So I decided to include it in the end!
And that meant I had to delay the release.
Could I have forced myself to finish the demo by now? Yes, but my body would've SUFFERED. SO. MUCH. ๐ค
So NO!
I don't wanna be in pain! I don't wanna CRUNCH! That's a big NOPE for me. ๐ ๐ค
So now,
the release will be on June!!!
(the QUEER month!!!) ๐ฅฐ๐
In the meantime, you can already play the game-jam version of the game! ^^
3) And I saw the stars falling down...: The official SPANISH TRANSLATION has been released!
I couldn't post the demo for my new game
BUT!
I still wanted to post something new this month! And I realized the Amare Games Festival was still going on, so I thought I could submit the spanish translation I have been working on since last year!
So I did!
The game has been 100% fully translated to spanish! The game page has ALSO been translated to spanish!
I mentioned this before but I felt like it was my CIVIC DUTY to translate my FIRST game to spanish because, well, it's my native language! I know how it feels to want to play a game, only to find out you can't because you don't understand anything! ๐ฅด Besides, there's something when you see your own game in your own native language ๐ฅฒ.
That being said...
It was SO tiring! OTL
I severaly understimated how much work translating a whole game by myself would be. It was just me doing all the work, from translating the story to fit the same meaning / impact in english... to implement the text into the game-engine (and this includes images).
So, to be honest, I don't think I'll do a translation by myself ever again. It's TOO much for one person.
But!
I don't regret doing this translation AT ALL!
This translation is made out of love tbh. And I'm SO PROUD of the result! ๐๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ So if you haven't played it yet, now it's the time to do it!
And I saw the stars falling down... is a free visual novel about the cycle of violence in a family.
The characters will try to argue the situation is not their fault or that it's not really that important, and it's up to the reader to find out what really happened.
