About “Don’t touch the cat!”
This was my attempt to enter the Spooktober VN Jam 2023 edition!
I actually had this idea pop up randomly and I wanted to try this game mechanic before October! But…! I was busy working on the revamp of my other game (“Love, I’m not good for you”) and I couldn’t work on this new game sooner. So, when I heard about this spooky jam, I decided to participate!
Sadly, I didn’t make it in time for the spooky jam :c BUT! I still decided to finish it! And a week later, it was released!! ^^
So, what’s this game about?
You are Adrian, and this is your first day at work! The only thing you have to do is to take care of this cat for 5 minutes until her owners come back! It's not that difficult... right?
"Don't touch the cat!" is a mystery, psychological horror game about, well, cats! And a guy on his first day at work! It's a really short game, it takes around 10-20mins to get all endings
It has 3 endings. And, well, try not touching the cat?
Since I participated in the Spooky Jam I didn’t have the time to continue working on the revamp. But now that “Don’t touch the cat!” is done, I’m finally back to working on this game!
BUT!
I do have to make an imporant announcement regarding this game:
I’m going to revamp this game… but there won’t be any sequels! :c
Previously, I had mentioned that I planned to release 2 other short games related to this one game but... I thought more about it and I realized that I actually want to keep this story just for me hehehehe 😤🤗
The full story comes from a private and very special place of my heart, and I decided that… I want to keep it like that, to have this mushy feelings only for me (yes, sue me! 😤)
But! This is also because I’m planning to create a long game (like “And I saw the stars”) and I honestly don’t think I’ll have time nor energy to do another 2 short games while working on a big project (= 3 = )/
So, in sum, I will continue working on the revamp of this game BUT!, there won’t be any more games related (sequels), sorry! :c
I will add some extra content on the new game! 👀
Since I won’t do the 2 short games I promised, there won’t be the opportunity to show the other character that was going to be love interest of our MC! But, I do want to see them together in some way, so I’m thinking of… doing just a short extra scene post-credits, just so you understand who our cute girl is meeting! ^^
(Just to tell you some things, it’s a person from her past… that she wasn’t expecting to meet again!)
The focus of the game is not, ofc, the dating sim part.
