The 10 most-watched Netflix cartoons (July-December 2023)
As a follow up to my previous post about the most-watched Netflix cartoons from January to June 2023, here’s a post covering July to December 2023. Information is taken from Netflix’s own report.
The most watched Netflix series overall is animation related: “One Piece Season One,” the live-action adaptation of the classic anime series. It had 71.6 million views, and a total of 541.9 million hours viewed.
Criteria
I note this is based on global Netflix viewing, so some of the shows might not be available for US viewers. I’m also including anime as well as Western animation. If I missed a TV show or movie, please let me know.
Unlike last time, I’m basing this post on total number of views, versus viewing hours (different show lengths and all).

Observations
Unsurprisingly, preschooler shows make up Netflix’s most-watched cartoon list. “CoComelon” dominates the list, taking up six of the 10 spots. “CoComelon”-like series “Little Angel” and “Bebefinn” take a spot each, as does “Gabby’s Dollhouse.” “Peppa Pig” rounds out the top 10 (in the US, it’s on Paramount+).
The top non-preschool cartoon on the list, as well as the top anime series, is “Yu Yu Hakusho” (Season 1), with 16,500,000 views.
The top non-preschool Western cartoon is “Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse” (Season 1), with 16,000,000 views. The series originally ran from 2012 to 2015; it’s a CGI animated mock reality show featuring Barbie and her friends. Since this was from the second half of 2023, I assume “Dreamhouse” saw a spike in viewership thanks to last year’s biggest hit film, “Barbie,” and the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon. That said, neither of those films are on Netflix; as of this writing, “Barbie” is on Max, while “Oppenheimer” is on Amazon Prime Video.
Despite Netflix clinging to “Big Mouth” like it’s a life raft, it’s pretty far down the list of most-watched cartoons; Season 7 is the top entry, with 8,500,000 views. The first two seasons of “Sonic Prime” had more viewers than that, with 12,100,000 views for Season 2 and 11,900,000 views for Season 1.
