Everybody’s Worried About Owen is the solo project of Owen Trawick (they/them). With an ancestry of sounds in fifth wave emo and folk punk, Owen began their project as a resolution they made during quarantine. Amassing over 156k collective followers on TikTok and Instagram, Owen is releasing an album about the musical career they never would have imagined having. Following their EPs, There are Leeches in Denton Lake and Yerba Muerte! split with The Last Arizona, Trawick’s is preparing to release their next album. Their album I Love the Red Trail! is releasing on Richmond based Say-10 Records in 2025.

On May 9, 2025, Everybody’s Worried About Owen is releasing “Phantom Limb.” The double track release comes with “Phantom Limb” as an acoustic version and a rock version. This is the second single of the album, following “Hydroplaning,” which followed the same format with an acoustic version and a rock version. Owen’s sound has a diverse range that could be similar to AJJ and Oso Oso but with influences like Origami Angel and Teenage Halloween. It’s easy to see why they’d release their tracks in dual format that represents their multifaceted tastes.

On “Phantom Limb,” Trawick shares, “Often as queer kids, we engage in activities and behaviors that others view as "cringe" or "annoying" and it can be very easy to convince yourself to agree with them.”

They share that they imagine their upcoming album to be for young and queer folks transitioning from one stage of their life to the next. On this life experience, Trawick carries out this sentiment in “Phantom Limb. “It is my experience, and I hope the experience of other queer adults, that once you grow up and start living your life for real you realize that what you were doing was A: expressing yourself authentically or B: creating a defense mechanism to get through a world that is actively antagonistic to queer people.”

However, you don’t have to be queer or even young to find “Phantom Limb” to be quite relatable.
“Phantom Limb is a song about learning to love the parts of your younger self that we are told to look down upon.”

Trawick has shared the stage with Home is Where and has performed at Miami Beach Pride. They can be found performing in the Midwest this spring. Owen is on tour with June Henry and The Last Arizona with stops at Rat Fest (Bowling Green, OH) and Stoopfest (Lansing, MI) from May 2-May 9.
