Hey friends, who might also be like gods, creating all of the time,

Today is the one year anniversary of At Least More Than Half-Way Dead by Sgt Scag!

This was the third album I was lucky to work on for public relations after a near seven year break from the work.

This was the first album Connecticut band Sgt Scag would put out in over two decades.

Today, while reflecting on this masterpiece of an album I’ve enjoyed so much in the last year, I’m thinking a lot on how sometimes the right thing to do with creations is take a break and come back better than ever before.

And so- consider the cyclical nature of the world- even the moon isn’t always full and shining. Sometimes, there are new moons and you can’t even see the moon in the sky. Much like Sgt Scag, is it only natural to disappear and come back to being seen?

What would a (planned, shorter than 2 decades) break mean for you, the creative?

I also discuss the multi talented members of Sgt Scag who are in other projects, an illustrator, and a video producer.

Thanks for contemplating the woo woo cycles of creation and the moon with me today.

Stay hydrated and feel free to come out and say hello at Supernova Ska Festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend! I’ll be slinging merch with Ska Punk International.

As always, would love to hear what you’re cooking up.

Michi

More about At Least More than Half-Way Dead:

“Being away for the game for two and a half decades, Sgt. Scag sounds as tight and relevant as they did during the end of the third wave when so many bands disappeared into oblivion or went emo. "At Least More Than Half-Way Dead" was an unexpected kick to the teeth from a band that didn't quite get the attention that they deserved during the ska/punk heyday. Whether you feel like, moshing, stage-diving, headbanging or just skankin'...this album has a little bit of all of that energy. Take a listen to this diamond in the rough and you won't be disappointed because Sgt. Scag is back!” -ReadJunk.com
