Tourney Day 2
The best part of the tournament is the early days, as seeing all 14 programs in one spot is a great time to get a sense of the differences between cultures, quality, and perspective.
The cheerleaders, comparing notes and giggling at their counterparts, either making fun or dancing along or taking notes. The bands usually have a mutual respect for each other. The band directors have different personalities, with some watching the game more and trusting their band a little more. Others are spread into the media table, and also fumble at their communication a bit.
The various athletic directors range from buttoned up to gregarious, and the same applies to the SIDs. Some are harried, frazzled, and others are composed and accommodating.
The first day is always relaxed, as the teams are bad and do not inspire much traveling support. I’ve seen WKU, and UAB arrivals(fans not players) today, and that tracks. The tournament started yesterday, but doesn’t really begin until this evening.
