The Week That Was: CUSA Week 4
MEMPHIS, TN --- CR was in Memphis to watch North Texas at the Tigers. It was entertaining, which is the entire point If I recall. The real action was watching UTEP and Middle jump up and make some noise. The Miners upset Boise 27-10 and by all accounts they dominated. The same thing happened in Miami, where MTSU did the same. Just ask head coach Rick Stockstill. He made a point to emphasize that it wasn't a fluke or a bad Miami game, but a straight beat down handed from the boys in blue, white, and silver to the folks in Coral Gables. They join FIU in recent memory to have beat the Hurricanes.
Once again we are reminded that college football is a funny game and anything can happen. That kind of hope made Middle re-up on Stockstill even when it was looking not so fun, and now it has paid off. The lack of hope made Marshall (last year) kick out Doc Holiday and hire Huff. That paid off after the South Bend trip . . . and now it looks kind of silly. Everything is relative, and recency bias goes both ways. Seth Littrell's seat was very hot after UNLV, and then a decent showing vs Memphis has kept him at a simmer.
