Pre-Conference Play Snapshot

Like most of you hoop-heads, I saw a little of Louisville vs WKU and can say that while there are a lot of reasons to not freak out, consider that it is very much a missed opportunity to lose to an in-state program that was very vulnerable. You have to take full-advantage of opportunity. Want to build the WKU brand? Win over Louisville, bud.

Meanwhile, Louisiana Tech had a rough-go vs SFA, a good program historically. Tech does not look like the league-contender they were the previous years with Junior Lofton, but that is how it goes with a new head coach. Losing by a point in overtime is nothing to be ashamed about, but losing at home is not a good thing.

UAB is good, but not as good as West Virginia, apparently. They look like the clear favorite as they dismantled South Carolina easily.

We mentioned that losing Marshall, ODU, and Southern Miss would improve the league as it was trimming the fat. USM has improved greatly this season, but the point stands. As of now, only FIU and UTSA are equal or below .500.
