CUSA Tournament Day One
Yesterday was a travel day. Your Truly left St Louis, MO to get to Frisco, TX. All in all it was a short trip. It was made a little longer to bring along my family, which includes three young children. There is a lot of coordinating restroom breaks, food, snacks and cleanliness that takes a lot out of you.
I was thinking about this, pretty much spent from the day as we were leaving the restaurant for dinner and encountered a lone Charlotte hooper. He looked like he was waiting on a to-go order. The rest of the squad was across the parking lot, leaving another restaurant, loading up in the team bus. My guesstimate was that the lone dude was getting a dessert to go.
Back at the hotel -- CR is staying at the Embassy Suites across from the minor league ballpark -- Marshall's men's team was unloading their bus, and the various managers were loading up the gear. As I carried my tired children to the elevator, I saw Marshall head coach Mike D'Antoni leave his elevator, wave goodbye, and try to figure out which route was best to get to his room. "Going to try to get some sleep".
Travel takes a lot out of you, even if it is well-planned, and comfortable.
