In my efforts to bring you piping hot content, here’s a recording of a convo I had with a friend/colleague about the study of podcasts. There is a little out there right now in the academic world. We talk about several ways to approach it, as well as go on several tangents.

I’ve had several false starts to recording podcasts, and I think what stops me is the need to have perfect, edited, cohesive material. So now I just get on a mic and start gabbing. This recording starts mid-sentence, so structure is out the window. Linear time is a social construct.

Even if you don’t care about the academic approach to a cultural object, we bring up some good points. Patrick is getting his doctorate in theater and apparently considering podcasts as part of performance studies is a renegade things to do.
