Today was my first day at special Peloton Academy. Only special people got invited. So I was wondering why I was here! I had incredible flexibility, but I wasn't as cool as the other instructors. My hair was not as full as Hannah's. I wasn't as fun as Ally. I wasn't gay like Cody.
I walked into the building, which was lined with floor-to-wall loft windows that actually didn't have windows in them. The gleaming classrooms had brand new bikes and treads. I dug through my bag for my schedule. First up I had "Picking Your Best Sports Bra." I cautiously went to my locker, slowly doing the combination (You had to open it while doing a high plank).
"You look new and cool," said a voice. I turned but looked up at a very tall blonde. "I'm Callie,": she said and swing her long braid over her shoulder.
"M-m-m-ee? You think I am cool?"
"Of course. You should hang with my friends and me. We'll take you under our wing."
Just then Ally and Jess King came up, laughing. "Guys, this is Robin, she is new but also very cool. And she does barre." Oh my god! How could she say that to Ally Love? The barre person? How embarrassing!
"THere's always room for more on the Love Squad," she said. "it's a vibe!"
Later, in class, all my new friends invited me to sit with them. I even answered a lot of questions in class and at the end they gave me my first live stretching class? It was at 3:30am EST, but who cared! I couldn't wait to pick my playlist for National Cyber Security Awareness Month. My friends gathered around me. "We're so proud of you!" said Hannah Corbin. "You're part of the Peloton family!" said Rad Lopez.
I was. I really was.
