My Ark of the Covenant
Do you have a piece of cultural ephemera that you know exists and are dying to see? I can't think of another example other than my own answer, but just nod along. I've been lucky enough to do archival work on a project about popular romance authors, and this popped out of a publishing trade mag.
Finding and holding this Sweet Valley Bible is a dream of mine. It's the master copy of stories given to all the ghostwriters. I have talked to someone who once had the bible, but that is the closest I've ever come. Can I get a time machine and go back and find Elise Howard? But also, this confuses me. Are they saying they need ghostwriters for SVH? Or just bragging? What is this constantly sending out the bible? Why can't I find someone who has it? It's not for lack of trying. I've really spoken to literally every Sweet Valley High fan. I want nothing more in life than a publisher to send me a huge binder with a world already built and ask me to put together the pieces for a mediocre series book. I'm manifesting it to you all so it will happen.
*FYI, Daniel Weiss packaged the books for the publisher, and later became Alloy publishing who did the Traveling Pants books.*
