I'm cringing as I write this.

Academia has made me doubt every single word I write. As I write this my heart is beating fast. Did I use correct grammar? Will the red lines pop up on Microsoft Word? Will I see the red marks of a track change? A comment that says, "I don't understand what you mean here." Or the question: "Do you ever read your work out loud?"

It is going to be a long journey (*ugh passive voice) to make me love the written word again.

Still, I regret nothing* about getting a Ph.D.!

*except for problems I created for myself while completing a program I actively chose to take on.
