🎨 Meet PowerIcons: 6,300+ free icons for PowerApps

Hey friends! 👋

Thank you all so much for the incredible response to PowerLibs.com! I've been blown away by how many of you reached out and gave me feedback.

After the initial lifetime access spots sold out, several of you asked if there was any way to still get in before I transition to a subscription model. I heard you, and I've decided to extend lifetime access until Sunday.

After Sunday, I'm closing lifetime access for good because PowerLibs demands constant updates and daily attention. It's been my main focus for months now. And there is still so much planned for it. I’m already working on it!

PowerIcons.dev: The Tool I Never Told You About

A few days ago I realized that I've never actually talked about PowerIcons in this newsletter. Yet thousands of PowerApps developers use it monthly.

PowerIcons started at the beginning of this year when I got frustrated with the limited icon options in PowerApps. I wanted access to other icon libraries, but every solution I found was slow and limited. I needed something simple: click an icon, paste it into PowerApps, done.

So I built it myself.

What makes PowerIcons special:

PowerIcons gives you instant access to over 6,300 SVG icons from libraries like Fluent 2, Bootstrap, and Lucide. Plus animated SVGs that are still in preview.

Here's how it works: Browse the gallery, select your library from the dropdown, click any icon, and the YAML code is automatically copied. Switch to PowerApps, press paste, and your icon appears. That's it.

But it gets better. Each library has a customize button where you can adjust colors, rotation, and stroke width before copying.

My favourite feature: External SVG support

My favorite feature is the External SVG button. Found an icon on another website? Copy the SVG code, paste it into PowerIcons, and you'll see a live preview. From there, you can select and deselect individual elements—perfect for removing parts you don't need or creating different states of the same icon.

The Analyze Colors feature lets you tweak every color in the SVG to match your brand perfectly. This is incredibly useful when you need to adapt icons to your app's color scheme or simplify complex SVGs.

Why use icons in your apps?

Icons aren't just decoration. They're navigation shortcuts that help users understand your app faster. Different icon styles can establish visual hierarchy, communicate actions more clearly than text alone, and make your interface feel more intuitive and professional. When you have access to multiple icon libraries, you can choose the style that best fits your app's purpose and your users' expectations.

Best part? PowerIcons is completely free. No payment required, no limits. And even though I’ve been putting in the work and adding new features, I am trying to keep it free.

What's Next?

In my next newsletter, I'll introduce you to another free app I launched a few weeks ago. Some of you might already know it, others won't. But I'll save that story for next time.

Talk soon!
