What's New in Dendron?
What's New in Dendron?
We've been working the code fields hard this month and five major features have sprouted. These are all part of our larger roadmap for the year, so if you're interested in what's next, go check that out.
- The Dendron CLI exposes Dendron's functionality through the command line. You can use the CLI to do things like automatically remove all stub files within a vault, automatically sync all the vaults in a particular workspace, or even set up custom publishing workflows. We expect to keep adding features here so be sure to keep tabs on this area.
- Insert note for working with templates. You no longer have to manage all your useful templates using vscode snippets. A template hierarchy will do just fine! See more details here
- Code hooks to automate your workflow. We're just getting started adding in useful automations, but we're already seeing community members adding hooks to their existing workflows.
- Overhauled lookup so it's even faster to retrieve your notes. We made various tweaks to the fuzzy-lookup algorithm so you can find notes even if you just remember a few characters at the end of a title.
- Block references to create even finer-grained linking between notes. This feature, pioneered by Roam should help you see even more connections in your knowledge base. This month we rolled out basic linking functionality. Look out for full-support including auto-completion and block embeds in July.
For a full list of changes, check out our release notes. We're always working to make Dendron better for you. Please reach out by email, Discord, or in community office hours if you have feedback or suggestions.
Happy Gardening!

P.S. We're always looking to expand our community. If you know someone that might make a good gardener, refer them to Dendron and have them mention your alias in their Discord intro. All referrers will get the seeder role as well as our eternal gratitude!
