v1.4 Stable: Enterprise-Ready Features

Released on June 23, 2025, Defguard v1.4 enhances security, deployment, and performance for enterprise and homelab environments:

Audit Log Streaming: Export logs to SIEM tools like Vector or Logstash for real-time monitoring and compliance. Docs

v1.5 Alpha: Mobile Clients for Testing

Defguard v1.5 alpha introduces exciting features for testing, including mobile clients for iOS and Android.

Multi-Factor Authentication with External OIDC/SSO - now you can configure on each location separately which MFA (internal or external like Google/Okta/Microsoft) - please remember that only desktop clients 1.5 and new mobile clients support this feature.

Possibility for admin users to disable MFA in a user profile

Possibility to “bind” a user and all their devices with a selected public IP address by SNAT
