💜 Plant lavender for luck 🌿
“Just a little more lavender to relax,” I whisper to myself while preparing my 16th mug of Stress Relief tea for the day…

Paper Crane Feelings #7
Dear Friend,
I’m feeling a bit more down than usual. I had a couple topics I’ve been thinking about, but I’m going to take it easy on myself and just make a request today.
Tomorrow is my birthday, and my birthday wish is encouraging you to send something in the mail to someone you care about. Maybe a letter, greeting card, or a postcard to say “Hey, I was just thinking about you!”
It’s never a bad time to reach out to someone, but I think a lot of people would appreciate receiving a little something in the mail from a loved one right now.
If you don’t want to write a lot, a postcard is a good way to go. Plus, no envelope is needed, and the stamp is a little cheaper. Also! You can turn lots of things into postcards if they meet the size requirements - recipe cards, old board game pieces, food packaging cut to proper size, etc.
If you want to send a letter but don’t have any envelopes handy, you can always write your message on one side of a piece of paper, fold the paper into thirds, and use tape or a sticker to seal it with your message facing inward. Then just write your addresses directly on the back of the folded piece of paper and slap a stamp on there!
Basically, if you have a few stamps around your home, then you probably have everything you need to send a little something in the mail to a friend or family member.
Current Projects
Snail Mail Club updates.
WINTER. Practical Magic themed Winter cards went out last week and should be showing up in Snail Mail Club members’ mailboxes soon. Once folks start receiving those, I will be updating the Winter card page with new information and images of the card and extra items.
I’m working on my idea for the movie trailer based on the Winter theme, but it’s probably going to take a while to complete. At least I can work on it in the background while I start on Spring cards!
SPRING. I have an idea for Spring, but I want to make sure it will work before I announce the theme. Spring cards will mark the one-year anniversary of Snail Mail Club which is very exciting!
WHAT IS SNAIL MAIL CLUB? SMC members receive unique handmade cards four times per year that are inspired by the seasons. Additional items are included in every release such as stickers, bookmarks, and other surprises. If you aren’t already a member, you can sign up through Ko-fi HERE! Thank you, SMC members!
New journal entries.
Honestly Everything is Kind of Complicated. I rambled a bit in my Journal about how tasks that seem simple can still be overwhelming or linger on a to-do list. (Hint - It might be more of a project than a task.)
Luna.
Luna made it through her annual veterinary exam. It was rough… thank goodness it’s over! Also, my partner, Josh, came home with a dog bed someone gave away at his work a couple of weeks ago. It is ridiculously HUGE, but Luna seems to LOVE it.

Recent Inspirations.
Little Hobbies.
Josh and I are rewatching Star Trek: The Next Generation together (we’re just on Season 2), I haven’t watched any movies recently, and I’m still waiting on Children of Dune to be available from the library, so I have thrown myself into little hobbies, which I’m trying to do for about 10-30 minutes per hobby each day.
Currently this includes learning Japanese, meditating, playing ukulele, and looking up information about my most recent obsession, visual kei. I would also include cooking, but that is more of a once or twice per week hobby.
Progress may seem slower when I do multiple hobbies for such short times each day, but so far it’s been a manageable way to juggle some of my interests and areas in which I’d like to improve. I’m still trying to figure out how to fit learning to sew into my schedule. That’s been on my list for a while now.
I would love to hear about any of your little (or big) hobbies.
In conclusion.
It might seem like an odd way to celebrate my birthday, but it would make me so happy for you to consider sending someone a letter, card, or postcard in the mail soon! I will share an update if I hear about anyone participating in the request.
Please take care of yourselves in these challenging times, and take care of each other!
