Marx for Education Today
I’m an academic and one thing academics do is put together edited volumes. These are books where different people have written chapters on a theme. I’ve never actually edited a volume before so it was on my professional bucket list, and luckily the inimitable Phoebe Gilpin is taking the lead along with me on a new one.
I’m sending along our call for papers below to see if readers out there want to submit something. We’re considering stuff from all kinds of writers, you don’t have to be an academic. Here’s the submission form.
(And our call on social media.)
I’m really looking forward to what you send in! And if you have any questions feel free to respond to me in this email.

Call for Papers: Marx for Education Today
As red-baiting, panic, and disinvestment pressure our institutions, Dave Backer and I are putting out a call to assert and viscerally illustrate our collective visions for Marxist education.
We invite educators, organizers, students, scholars, journalists, and workers to propose submissions which both critique and work to practically change how education functions (and doesn't) today. How else could education be? What is our proudly and creatively Marxist vision for education?
