Absorbing

Five links for your inbox from this week.

1. Curated OpenGraphs

The images we see when we share a link on social media – otherwise known as OpenGraph – are more important than ever. A good image will encourage people to click, even if it’s not custom generated for each post, but this often gets left to the end of the design process.

This site has some great inspiration for creating interesting images.

2. Robin Sloan on Twitter’s future

“Arguing about the future of Twitter is a loser’s game; a dead end. The platform’s only conclusion can be abandonment: an overdue MySpace-ification.”

3. Don’t just say ‘hello’

“Imagine calling someone on the phone, going hello! then putting them on hold…”

4. lofi

Following on last week’s brain.fm feature, this is not-scientific-at-all lofi mix to listen to while you work.

Incidentally, last week’s edition featured brain.fm and Mark Ellis Reviews, and, somewhat serendipitously, this week Mark published a video overview of brain.fm – worth a quick watch.

5. Waypoint NDA

This is a nice approach to standardising NDAs: read the full-terms of Waypoint once, then drop it into projects when you need it. Nice and simple.

Projects + other things

  • Scruples: we’re booking new projects from August.
  • My Unoffice Hours are available every two weeks on Wednesdays. Next slot: June 1st.
