Absorbing
Five links for your inbox from this week.
1. Macstodon
A fun-looking Mastodon app for 68k classic Macs.
2. Ivory for Mastodon
More practically, Tapbots, the creators of Tweetbot, have announced they are developing an iOS and macOS client for Mastodon. This could be one to watch, especially for Tweetbot fans.
3. Awfice
Awfice features tiny, tiny office apps. The suite includes a word processor, spreadsheet, drawing app and presentation software, each using less than 1kb of JavaScript.
This isn’t heavyweight software – they’re feature-light and none of them can save, so don’t refresh the page! – but a fascinating project nevertheless.
4. Landings
A simple, scannable landing page inspiration site.
5. PDF to Markdown convertor
I’m going to be doing a lot of slide rewrites soon and need to convert PDFs to Markdown before I can edit. This tool looks particularly handy not least because it “is an offline tool, your data stays locally and is not send to any server!”.
Projects + other things
- First impressions of Stage Manager on macOS ventura
- I’m available for work and booking projects from early 2023
- My Unoffice Hours are available every other Wednesday. Next and final slots of 2022: December 15th.
