Five links for your inbox from this week.
1. OMGF – Google Fonts WordPress plugin
With Google Fonts deemed illegal in some EU states – an indication of things to come – this plugin looks like a helpful tool for WordPress site owners. It reduces the number of requests to the Google Fonts API, improving site performance at the same time.
2. Muting your mic reportedly doesn’t stop big tech from recording your audio
I hadn’t even considered this, but it’s not surprising.
3. DIFTK relaunching
If you’re a freelancer parent, the Doing It For The Kids group is a wonderful and supportive space. Until now, it’s been a Facebook group – and one of the few things I’ve missed since I left. Looking forward to the relaunched, not-Facebook community arriving in a couple of weeks.
4. Learn Regex
I don’t use RegEx enough to remember the formatting. When I need it, I always spend a while looking for resources to structure an expression for me. This seems like a useful link for next time.
5. macOS tips
For some reason I always skip tips videos, but this one is well-worth two minutes of your time if you’re a macOS user. Plenty of things in here that could improve day-to-day usage of your Mac.
Projects + other things
- Scruples: we’re booking new projects from August.
- My Unoffice Hours are available every two weeks on Wednesdays. Next availability: June 1st.
