Absorbing
Five links for your inbox from this week.
1. Magnet
A desktop/window organiser for Mac. Maximise your screen space by snapping windows into perfect halves/thirds/quarters/sixths.
2. Aeonik Fono
It’s always a joy to come across a fauxnospaced/monofake typeface. These fonts have the appearance of typewriter text but the letters are spaced proportionally (rather than maintaining the same width for each character), which improves legibility.
3. Modalz Modalz Modals
We use too many modals. This page has some great suggestions for alternative patterns.
4. txti
Fast, simple, text-only websites.
5. USB-C iPhone 13
Watch someone convert their iPhone’s lighting port to USB-C. I had no idea what was going on for most of this video or how on earth they knew how to make this work. A truly intriguing watch.
Projects + other things
- 182.5 days alcohol-free I unintentionally gave up alcohol for good six months ago. Here are some notes on how that happened, what I’ve noticed and a book recommendation.
- What’s the deal with privacy-focused analytics? If you start looking at how to make a website more privacy-focused, analytics will come up almost immediately. Why is this such a hot topic?
- Scruples: we’re booking new projects from August.
- My Unoffice Hours are available every other Wednesday. Next slot: July 27th.
