NOW OPEN! Group Coaching Season 2 - Sign Up is Open!

After a survey and a couple months off, its time to reboot Doubters Anonymous Group Coaching for the Fall. The new “season” schedule is 6 meetings from September through November. I am more convinced than ever that learning about self-doubt in a group setting is a great help for all that attend.

There will be a total cost of $50 to register for the 6 sessions to help me set aside the time for the calls, plus the preparation and recap videos.

Michael Shrieve Interview Updated

Here’s a blog post with my interview with Michael Shrieve and a new video link without subtitles. I learned that 10% of viewers really can’t stand them. Oh well! This video has been far and away my most popular video due to Michael’s fame of course. He makes some great points about self-doubt and following your passion. I plan more interviews and just recorded my next one.

How To Work with Grief (Video)

On a whim I made a video about some concepts and reflections that I’ve learned about grief. This video really struck a chord and I’ve heard from dozens of friends far and wide which was very touching. In short, I hope you will see a grief counselor or therapist if you are able to afford it. I also pass along some other thoughts that have helped me.

New Blog Post: No Caveats!

Here’s a blog post about not giving caveats before we share our amazing work. I am guilty of this too and working on not doing this anymore. I was reminded recently how horrible this is for the audience. Just let them enjoy your best effort of the day and smile through all the mistakes. It’s a much happier life in the end.

Open Mic performance at Mosaic MI

I performed Ticket to Ride for the first time at Mosaic MI (Mercer Island, WA) with my friend Jonathan Plum. It was a lot of fun and I plan on returning each month I can make it.

Musical inspiration, some videos I keep rewatching:

• Gregory Porter singing Probably Me while Sting watches him

• Gregory Porter Interview What a brilliant guy! Love the part where he discusses how he is writing songs from the perspective of masculine vulnerability. Yes please. That’s a huge part of my songwriting approach and an important perspective to share with the world.

• Chet Baker singing You Don’t Know What Love Is is just mesmerizing to me. What a hauntingly wonderful voice.

• Legendary New Orleans Drummer Shannon Powell breaking down “It Ain’t My Fault” makes me smile every time I cue this up and try to play along. I love his joyous funky ways.
