Onward we go! Dave 🥁 🎤
Hello and welcome to my 4th monthly newsletter in a row.
Reminder: I share these updates to keep you posted on what’s going on with me and to inspire you to chase whatever you love and hold most dear.
Cue The Music
This month’s song is “The Way You Make Me Pay” (link is a full blog post if you want to read more about it and hear the song)
This song arrived suddenly and spontaneously one day as I was trying out my wife’s guitar and toggling between two familiar chords, C and G. It was quite an experience for me.
Next Songs
I’ve recorded 5 more songs with Jonathan Plum and am working on finishing those. But I’m also writing new songs all the time. I can’t help myself.
Gig!
My little band Greenwood Music Collective is playing the Blue Moon Tavern on Friday April 26th.

I’ll be playing piano on three of my original songs for the first time ever. It’s really exciting. Playing bass is my old friend from high school: Gwon Chang! Decades later we are rocking together again.
Doubt Riding Shotgun Book Updates
Book sales have been pretty good lately and I’m continuing to support this book with all I have.
Coming to Apple iBooks Soon!
I’ve got the files prepped (thanks Amy!) and am going to post this by the end of month. Watch my social media channels.
Doubt Riding Shotgun Audiobook in production
I’ve been recording my audiobook at long last. If you’d like to be a beta listener, please let me know. Would be great to have you on the list if you have some time to listen. Just drop me a note.
SubStackin’ and Bloggin’
I’ve been blogging more on Substack lately to give it a try. It’s faster than my regular site. What do you think? Should I keep going there? I’m making all my content free and have been getting some new subscribers and it seems like a great community.
Here’s some links to recent posts:
Post on naming your inner critic with some fun AI images of my Doubt Voice and the voice of some of the folks in my group coaching program. Do you have a name for your inner critic? Send it to me and I’ll make you an image.
Post on being more tolerant about the necessary frustration of creative life. Why not expect frustration? It’s gonna happen. Maybe we should celebrate it? What do you think?
Post on watching out for Experts (including me). This is also a post about when to share work with friends, collaborators and “experts” if EVER! I find with my songs that just releasing them and then talking to people who love them is suits me just fine.
YouTube Experiments Continue
I’ve got a few new videos on my channel now and have a better workflow. Here’s a one minute video on not letting our self-doubt passenger drive the car.
Here’s a list of all the videos on the channel which include 6 new ones since my last newsletter! My goal is one per week so I’m hitting that too.
What topics would you like to see?
What are you struggling with?
What are your challenges?
Let me know and I hope to see you in a future Doubters Anonymous Group Coaching session.
Please like, comment and subscribe to substack and/or youtube if you haven’t already.
See you next month!
