January Newsletter
Hi,
Two blog posts this month – both about films, both about knowledge:
- "Knowledge and Ignorance in Chinatown and Killers of the Flower Moon" – two movies that share an interest in wilful ignorance, though they place the audience in contrasting epistemic positions
- "The Technopoly of Fingernails" reflects my recent reading (see below) and considers the difference between declarative and procedural knowledge
This month I've been reading:
- Technopoly by Neil Postman
- Prophet Song by Paul Lynch
- Cahokia Jazz by Francis Spufford
