Hello, Again
Hello, again!
It’s been a while since our last newsletter: nearly two years. At that time, I wrote to you:
… we’re changing our roadmap to focus on No-Code tools …
Since then, we’ve worked hard to build the foundation for those tools. Our understanding of our mission and how we describe it has evolved along the way. We now describe our platform as a generative programming platform, emphasizing that programming no longer implies writing code. We’ve also embraced the language of consent to describe the kinds of applications we want to help people create. And we’ve also reached a milestone: we’re ready to launch our first product!
In our last update, I said our first product would be a Website builder. While that is still on our roadmap, we decided that our first product should be a database optimized for use by application creators. There’s nothing to install or configure, no complex query language to learn, and using it is as simple as sharing a link. Everything is state of the art, from performance to scale to security. The foundation of most applications is storing and retrieving data, so we felt this was the natural place to start.
We call it, simply enough, DashKite DB. Please give it a try and let us know what you think. We expect to continue improving the product over the next few months, and your feedback will help us do that.
In our next issue, we’ll share what we’ve learned and discuss how our mission has evolved.
Thank you for your kind attention!
