2024-04-24: Co-ops, Mac apps, Tiktoks

Three Things I Did
1. Talked with the Distributed Press🄽 folks
I love ‘em! It’s a co-operative project with Hypha Collective🄽 and Sutty🄽, one a US workers collective, the other a Latin American/Dutch hosting service. I was pretty insistent at the start of our partnership that Sutty join as an equal partner, and I think it’s worked out well. It’s important to wire in actual users to your project development. 2. Over communicated with the STFIL🄽 community
I went to sleep last night thinking I should got them more updates (even if there isn’t much more news from us), and sure enough I woke up to lots of comments asking for more updates. Even if there’s not much right now we can do, I do feel at least somewhat in sync with them.
3. Said hello to the British Blockchain Association🄽
Literally: I recorded a hello video for them. Somehow having to say “British Blockchain Association” multiple times made me more British every time.

- You can pretty much install anything with Homebrew on a Mac these days. Setting up my new work mac🄽, I’ve been
brew installing everything from Guile🄽 to Telegram🄽.

- Biden Signs Tiktok Ban Bill. This is such a profound undermining of the free Internet. I just hope they’ll be some workaround: either judicial, commercial, or technical.
