Hej Alma,

We went on a school trip yesterday and I have to tell you about it because nobody else will listen properly. Mr. Lindgaard took us out to the harbour to see the weather buoys, the new ones that float in a ring and talk to each other about salt and wind. They are bright orange and they hum. Did you know they hum? Nobody told me.

But the WEIRD part — there were birds nesting on top of them. Like, regular seagulls. Just sitting there. The buoys cost about a billion kroner I think (I asked, Mr. Lindgaard said "shush, Oskar") and the birds do not care at all. They poop on the solar panels and the buoys still work. I think that's kind of amazing? Like the future is happening and a bird is just sitting on it.

Question for you: do seagulls in Skagen also do this, or is it only Copenhagen seagulls? I need to know for a drawing.

Bastian sends a hiss. He has been weird since the new neighbour moved in with a dog. I am also being weird about it but in a cooler way I think. Maybe.
