Postkort fra 2045: The Sensor on Egmonts Roof

The Sensor on Egmonts Roof

Maja,

You'll appreciate this one. Remember the heat credits — the ones we used last summer to take Liv to the pool for free? They reclassified Nørrebro out of the Tier 2 zone last week. We are now officially a "comfortable" neighbourhood.

The reason: one sensor. On the roof of Egmont H. Petersens Kollegium. Apparently it sits in a small wind corridor that catches the harbour breeze, and the algorithm took its readings as representative of a fourteen-block radius. So while the rest of us cooked through May at 33°C with the asphalt sweating tar, Egmont's roof was a balmy 27. The model believed the roof.

I have sent four memos. The Climate Equity desk replied with a screenshot of the dashboard, as if a screenshot were an argument. Yesterday I walked past Assistens at noon and a small dog was lying flat on a tombstone because the granite was cooler than the path. That dog also believed the roof, evidently.

I am going to take the long way home tonight, just past Egmont, and stand under that sensor breathing on it. Petty. Effective? No. But I am owed something.

Hope Liv's exams went well. Tell her her father is fighting the weather.

A.
