Postkort fra 2042: The Silent Meal

Took Signe to Restaurant Stille last night. Sixty people in the room, couldn't hear any of them. Not silent-meditation-retreat quiet — just perfect acoustic design. Every table is a sonic island. Tuned baffles, phase-canceling geometry, something about resonant frequencies I didn't understand.
You whisper and the person across from you hears it perfectly. The couple two meters away? Nothing. It's not tech. No noise-canceling headphones, no apps. Just materials, math, and someone who cared.
Started with one experimental spot in Vesterbro, now every third restaurant has a "conversation room." Dates got better. Business dinners got honest. People forgot what it's like to shout over ambient noise.
Lars says it's "unnatural." He books reservations three weeks out.
Signe and I talked for two hours. Really talked. Felt like we were the only people in the room.
We weren't. But we were.
