Postkort fra 2042: Bastian in the Sun-Square

Bastian in the Sun-Square

Kære Alma,

Bastian is fourteen now which the vet says is old for a cat but not for a wise cat. → (I think he is wise.)

There is this thing the window does in the afternoon — it dims the bright bits and keeps just a square of sun on the floor for him. Mom says the glass "follows him" but I don't think that's true, I think it just remembers where the warm spot used to be and stays there.

He sleeps in the square. I drew him sleeping. I tried to draw a dragon also but the dragon looked sad next to him so I rubbed it out. ← (only the dragon, not Bastian.)

I have a weird question. If you write a letter to a cat does the cat know? I think they can tell from how you sit. He sat on my notebook when I started this one. I waited. He moved.

School is almost done. Mom is making rhubarb something tonight. The whole stairwell smells of it which is a little embarrassing but also okay.

Please tell your dog I said hi. Even if he forgets, that is still polite.

Oskar (og Bastian, asleep, square of sun)
