Justifying my validation
Halfway through explaining myself, I heard it.
Justifying my existence.
They’re always needing that.
Some explanation for my behavior, my choices.
Because they’re incapable of grace, of seeing me for what I am, and letting that be enough.
What we’re looking for is validation.
That stamp that says we’re OK to park here.
Be here.
Act as ourselves, more than anything else.
Validated without question is to live in a state of grace.
