Exhumed and Awesome

I’m resurrecting this newsletter in an attempt to be better at it, but I promise I won’t be inundating anyone with emails - at the moment I’m leaning into maybe a quarterly schedule with the odd update here and there, especially for art market or shop updates.

Tráthnóna maith! | Good Afternoon!

It’s surprisingly hard to think about things to write when your brain feels like cheese, or at least, it is for me. I’m resurrecting this newsletter in an attempt to be better at it, but I promise I won’t be inundating anyone with emails - at the moment I’m leaning into maybe a quarterly schedule with the odd update here and there, especially for art market or shop updates. Still as a quick one:

1) My friend Aseel still needs help! She’s a 20yo Palestinian in Gaza and has been working so hard to get money together both for her family and the many cats that rely on her for food and care. She’s truly amazing and I am very lucky to call her my friend. You can help her out by contributing to her family Go Fund Me or using their paypal donate button, which is a faster way for them to access the funds.

2) I’ve been working on an oil painting piece in response to GDT’s Frankenstein film which I adored, but being that person, I do have many things to say about it, many of which I might make a topic for another newsletter… Overall though, it was a stunning watch, full of all of those wonderful del Toro delights that make his work so delicious.

3) I was recently diagnosed with hEDS which answered a lot of questions about my health. It’s been hard, I won’t lie, to feel both vindicated but also very very crushed that I have been dealing with very debilitating issues with no [medical] help for such a long time. I don’t like to talk about it too much, but it has been very, very hard. I’m trying to be hopeful that this at least is the beginning of some real improvements, and I really have to thank my current doctor for listening to me. I also as always want to thank my partner for being such a steadfast support through everything. Without him, I couldn’t do half the things I do now, including make art.

For my fellow local folk, my next market is going to be Late Night Art, Belfast, Ireland in June! Stand by for more info on that next month <3 You’ll be able to grab this neat postcard print below, and also a beautiful wooden keyring of it!

Digital art showing a green beetle surrounded by stained glass like patterns. The pattern is symmetrical and shows imagery of eyes, crowns, tulips, and moons.

I’m also making a new set of stickers which will also be available, here’s a little sneaky wip of one.

pssst the finished original piece is also for sale at the market! 😘
