THE YEAR OF THE TERRORDROME: OCTOBER 2026
Domestic horror, Office faggotry, and Postcards.
WELCOME BACK TO THE TERRORDROME. Can you believe it’s been an entire year?
I launched this newsletter in October of last year, motivated mainly by my aversion to social media platforms. The sole platform I maintain a presence on, bluesky, was (and is) experiencing frequent blackouts as the result of being a vibe-coded mess.
But all online platforms inevitably meet the same fate, don’t they? I’ve been thinking a lot lately about resuming my print self-publishing practice.
In the meanwhile, I think the newsletter has been a good way to force me to have public, tangible work to show off every month.

ANNA ANTHROPY PATCH NOTES: OCTOBER 2026
On Wednesday, November 11, I’ll be giving a free online talk about shareware as part of the Public Knowledge seminar series. Tune in!
It’s in Your House is a new collection of domestic horror micro-rpgs. It’s an expansion on The Maw, a 29-word horror game I wrote in 2023 and still one of my favorite pieces of design. I spend a lot of time at home because of my disability, and I’m fascinated by the home as a site of horror.
Degenerates is a local (Chicago-based) magazine of (really good imo) transsexual erotic art and writing. Issue 7 – the bondage issue – includes a short story by me, The Office Faggot, excerpted below. It’s a “free use” story about the duality of being a trans woman with an office job.
I’ve released digital copies of Five Small RPGs, the zine I created for CIGS last month. It’s a pretty good introduction to my tabletop RPG work, I think.

THE HAUNTED GALLERY
Illustrations from It’s in Your House, created with old catalog images from the 1920s to 50s I found on archive.org. I printed these out, modified them with charcoal and white-out, and then scanned them all funny to produce the final images.

THE OFFICE FAGGOT
"Finally, what you've been waiting for." Carrie opens the door for you. "Tah dah, the break room. Keuring packets are in the cupboard. There's a pretty long line in the morning so my advice—Oh. I see you've noticed the Office Faggot."
Hearing its name, the Faggot dumbly turns its head toward the two of you, making a muffled noise.
"The—?" you say.
"What, you haven't worked in an office before?"

WHAT HAVE I BEEN PLAYING CORNER
Thousand Hells: The Underworld Heists. Listen: I’m a long-time A# fan. I still have my King of Dragon Pass cd-rom. But the die-rolling system that powers this game is completely obtuse to me. I was also absolutely flummoxed that nothing about characters carries over between runs. That seems like a missed opportunity.
Powder. I’ve been spending a lot of time in bed lately, and this Gameboy Advance roguelike – in the original meaning of that term – has been my go-to. I like how wildly different each starting character can be, and how the game encourages a certain amount of recklessness that similar games punish.
Penguin Colony. An investigation of the intersections between Lovecraft, the Antarctic, white supremacy and penguins. I got lost so often, especially in the more closed and cramped areas, but love a lot of what the game is doing. I saw a take online that the Maori characters were the real colonizers because of their oppression of the Great Old One and had to log off.

THE CHICAGO BEARS: WILLOW AND PEBBLE CORNER
Continuous updates on the new little guys I live with.

C recently reorganized the closet, disrupting Pebble’s previous hiding spot. As consolation, xe built him a throne of soft blankets layered on a big cardboard box. Pebble loves it, and has been living the life of a little prince.

Miss Willow has a lot of food hangups and I Get It. We recently had to switch her food from a bowl to a flat plate because she stopped eating from the bowl. She likes to do high-speed parkour laps around the apartment. Willow is a treasure and we love her.
