Friends of Cwmdu Music, year-end update
In October we had a fabulous concert from composer, vocalist and violinist Claire Victoria Roberts with string players Treske Quartet and Swansea-based keyboardist and jazz band leader Dave Cottle.
Now, given the time of year; the FCM Christmas Draw. In order to participate, all you need is to be subscribed to this newsletter by Dec 31st 2024. If you're reading this via an email from us you will be entered automatically (unless you email us to opt-out). Otherwise - eg if you have clicked a link to view this from social media you can subscribe here. The winner receives two adult tickets to one of our forthcoming concerts of their choice.
Our first concert next year, on Saturday 8th March 7:30pm at St Michael and All Angels, Cwmdu will be from the Daniel Davies Quintet.
“Originally from Pembrokeshire in West Wales, Daniel studied Cello at the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School. He also had a series of masterclasses with the acclaimed Hungarian cellist Janos Starker. Daniel is a passionate chamber musician and currently works as artistic director of Nantwen Music where he performs in an annual festival of string chamber music with a focus on Welsh Classical Composers.”
The availability of tickets will be announced in January via this newsletter and our social media (see links below).
If you’re looking for some radio listening–there’s what promises to be a remarkable day of broadcasting tomorrow with the dawn of Advent as Radio 3 goes on its travels in “Carols Across the Country - a Seasonal Journey”.
Starting at Martin Mere Wetland Centre in Lancashire at 6:30am and ending in Swansea with Hannah French and Catrin Finch at 6pm, this should be a real treat. (Also subsequently available on catch-up.)
Thank you very much for your support during the year. We’re looking forward to seeing you at next year’s concerts.
