The evening will explore a blend of folk and jazz traditions, from French chanson to Bossa Nova and the American Songbook. Claire is a composer, vocalist and violinist, and collaborates with musicians from classical, folk and jazz spheres, drawing upon her diverse influences and melding styles together through improvised vocals, contemporary classical timbres and melody-driven compositions.

“Claire is a Welsh-born artist and has performed at jazz festivals in both the UK and Europe. She has won many national awards, including the Welsh Music Guild’s Young Composer and a Royal Philharmonic Composition Prize, and has been broadcast on Radio 3 and Radio Wales. We’re delighted to bring her to Cwmdu!”
“Treske Quartet—Oli Baily & Mollie Wrafter (violins), Abi Hammet (viola), Rob Wheatley (cello) is an emerging ensemble based in Manchester, UK. The Quartet was formed in 2017 for a chamber music course in North Yorkshire, and we still play an active role in delivering high quality chamber music in the area. Over the past two years the quartet has given recitals in the UK and abroad, notably the Rydale Festival, Llandeilo International Music Festival, Buxton Recital Series and the New Generation Festival. They studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. ”
“Jacob Savage started playing piano aged five and by seventeen, had achieved a classical diploma and won prestigious John Ogdon Scholarships in consecutive years. He wrote a musical and was then accepted into Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire) to study composition in which he gained a First Class degree after two years. Leeds Conservatoire have since invited Jacob back to film, record, teach, accompany and advise - most recently appointing him as a lecturer and Musical Director on the new Musical Theatre Degree Course.”
