Friends of Cwmdu Music-our next concert, Sat 13th May 2023
Take a European Tour with Cwmdu Music!
Dear Local Friends and Music Lovers,
As spring arrives, many of us will be thinking about holiday plans. And to get us in the mood - or to save travel miles through virtual travel ! - the next Cwmdu Music concert on Saturday 13th May will take us on a Baroque Tour of Europe.
A varied programme of chamber music will be played by The Jenkins Consort, some of Wales’ leading young musicians, currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. From England (Purcell) to France (Rameau), and from Spain (Ortiz) to Germany (Bach and Handel), the Jenkins Consort will present some old favourites as well as lesser known works which might have been discovered on a European musical tour during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
And why not extend the evening with a drink or meal at Cwmdu’s community pub, the Farmers Arms? The Farmers is directly opposite St Michael & All Angels Church, open on Saturdays from 12 noon to 11pm, and reservations can be made on 01874 202132.
