Friends of Cwmdu Music-our next concert reminder
OUR BAROQUE TOUR AROUND EUROPE with THE JENKINS CONSORT.
Dear Subscribers,
Our Baroque Tour of Europe is almost ready to depart! This next Cwmdu Music concert takes place on Saturday 13th May. Also, if you're interested in our summer concert with Welsh folk supergroup ALAW we recommend booking ahead as tickets are selling fast.
On Saturday 13th May, a varied programme of chamber music will be played by some of Wales’ leading young musicians, currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. From England (Purcell) to France (Rameau), and from Spain (Ortiz) to Germany (Bach and Handel), the Jenkins Consort will present some old favourites as well as lesser known works which might have been discovered on a European musical tour during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
OUR ARTIST/MAKER IN RESIDENCE: HARRY CHAPMAN, WOODTURNER.
Maker of household items for everyday use or decoration. All materials sourced locally from within the Brecon Beacons.
And why not extend the evening with a drink or meal at Cwmdu’s community pub, the Farmers Arms? The Farmers is directly opposite St Michael’s Church, open on Saturdays from 12 noon to 11pm, and reservations can be made on 01874 202132.
