Friends of Cwmdu Music-Ensemble19

Less than three weeks until our highly-anticipated concert with percussion group Ensemble19 (Saturday 4th July, 7:30pm at St Michael and All Angels, Cwmdu, NP8 1RW). Don’t miss an evening, which our past experience shows will prove a very enjoyable event.

Ensemble19 performers

Luke Baxter: Luke is a freelance drummer and percussionist who performs extensively across the UK and Europe, including London’s West End. He has worked across a wide range of musical styles and ensembles in both live performance and recording. He graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 2019 and since has played with ensembles such as WNO, Ulster Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the Brecon Baroque Festival Orchestra.

Iolo Edwards: Iolo grew up in North Wales and studied for his undergraduate degree at the RWCMD before moving for postgraduate studies to the Royal Academy of Music. He is now a busy freelancer, working with orchestras in the UK such as London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Ballet and Opera, BBC Concert Orchestra. Iolo has also performed with pop/rock artists such as Madness and The Who.

James Harrison: James graduated from the RWCMD in 2019, where he won the EV-ENTZ Percussion Prize. Prior to his studies, James was a long-standing member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. He works regularly delivering community music sessions and also as Percussion Tutor with the Dovetail Orchestra in Cardiff, an ensemble for refugees and asylum seekers

Faith Stonehewer: Faith is a London-based percussionist and educator whose work spans orchestral, chamber and musical theatre performance. She has appeared with ensembles including Charles Hazlewood’s Paraorchestra, the Aurora Orchestra and Swansea City Opera, performing across the UK and Europe. She has contributed to programmes with the National Open Youth Orchestra, Bristol Youth Orchestra, Cathedral Schools Trust and the National Children’s Orchestras. Faith trained at the RWCMD and the Royal Academy of Music.
