HI IT'S THURSDAY.
I didn't forget!!! I did, however, have a wonderful week. I had another staycation this week (this is what happens when you forget to take vacation until August!!!), and on Monday I explored Manhattan, Tuesday, Queens, Wednesday was a day home, and today was for Brooklyn! (Sorry, other boroughs.) But I had a lovely day doing some shopping, popping in and out of shops like I would when I travel, getting some delicious coffee, sitting in Prospect Park, and also stopping by
The Ripped Bodice, the new romance bookstore in Brooklyn!! It was super cute and I almost bought books, which, for me, is saying a lot!!!
So this might be a bit of a *shoves everything at the wall* newsletter because I'm a bit "no thoughts, head empty!" because I just finished up a lovely conversation with my friend Emily, which ended with the phrase "yes, I DO think about the Roman Empire maybe once a week!"
For those who aren't in the know, it's a current trend to ask the man in your life how often they think about the Roman Empire because apparently they think of it a lot. And idk, I also think of it quite a bit. But ask me about some obscure bit of history about Henry the VIII's wives, or, god,
anything about Greek Mythology and you will be cursed in a conversation for a while.
Anyway! Let's go onto recs!!!
- Tom Candy is back again! With a hilarious song about a perception check for a D&D game where most of the party has rolled Nat 1's but one person keeps rolling Nat 20s! Who cares it's hilarious even if you don't understand D&D. (Also there's a new season trailer for Dimension 20 but idk, if you want to watch, you should watch!)
- I stumbled into watching Mr. Chris Evans "look back at my films" and whew, beyond the Avengers Movies, he's been...in movies! I will say, they pick a nice selection to go through, but ... whew!!! Some of the films of his not mentioned are a choice. But it also recommended me Daniel Radcliffe's and that right there is a charming young man! (Yes, he is older than me.) But he has such a respect for the craft and he seems so lovely and warm! Idk, they're both fun watches if you have the time!
- Apologies for the people who have heard about this book series already but I need more people to read the American Royals series. Is it good? No!!!!! It's one of the soap-opera-y type books I've ever read, but I'm hooked. The premise is that when the American Revolution ended, George Washington became a King instead of a President and it's so dumb. Below are the things that make no sense:
- There is a Princess of Russia (what??), a Prince of France (What???), and a Prince of Canada (???) with no explanation as to how this has happened.
- There is a Duke of Texas, a Duke of Boston, and a Duke of Orange County (???? - or as my friend Emily said, those aren't even the same size of area!)
- America is the continental United States - but there's no explanation about how we got the Louisiana Purchase, Texas, or the west.
- One of the only things that makes sense - Hawaii is it's own monarchy!!! One small positive thing.
- But yeah! I love this series because they do not care. Like this series is about the drama and the love triangles. Stop asking about politics, Brieana!!! But then the Prince of Canada shows up at a small local college and I wish to tear my hair out!!!
Wow this was a much longer newsletter for it being last minute, I apologize!!! I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Bye!!!
