Hello everyone and happy Thursday!
Things are going in Brieana land! I slammed my finger in a door while trying to run out for some groceries. (If you see any typos please note how hard I am working but am down a pointer finger.) Everything at work seems to be falling apart. I broke three of my pottery pieces! (Two on purpose and tbh they felt amazing ripping apart.)
But hey! Things are bad but things are also good. For one, it is one of my dear friend, Melissa's birthday! Weird that her birthday ended up on my newsletter day and mine, hers! So odd. But I hope she has a delightful day.
Also thank you to another fabulous friend Emily for being the reason my upcoming trip is even happening at all!! Goodness gracious - she sat on the phone and answered 300 questions about travels and then sat on the phone AGAIN and helped me with my itinerary. (And continues to... I am one indecisive human.)
You know, the world is a bit scary now - lots of people losing jobs, Twitter is slowly crashing around our feet, and so much more I shalln't mention. But it's also good too I think - it's just getting harder to see all the good but it's there. I know it. It just takes some time to see the positive, and in so maybe slowing down a bit is helpful to do so! I know I personally sprint through life and refuse to acknowledge the positives so having a chance to sit down and breathe and enjoy the world is ... nice. Important! (Go on your walks, people!)
Alls that to say is I'm taking a break! Obviously you know I'm going on vacation (I keep mentioning it) but I will not be in your inboxes for the next two weeks. One is Thanksgiving so y'all be fine, and the other I will be still relaxing (or, knowing me, screaming and running from place to place), but I didn't want to be pressured to send something out. And yes, I know, there is no one but me pressuring but it is! A lot! Of work! Even if the newsletter feels rambly and goofy, it's still work. Work I love, I admit!
So, it's been lovely chatting with you all and maybe a small break will let me revive some creative juices and press on. But hey - if anything cool comes up, feel free to reply/message me online about it!
Anyway, have a delightful two weeks and a wonderful holiday. I'll see you on the flip side.
Links!
- Okay so growing up in the 2000s meant you watched at least two things Brendan Frasier was in and here he is talking about his films for GQ! Most importantly The Mummy ie the best film duo ever (we don't talk about the third one).
- Here is a baby elephant causing chaos during a news reporting.
- And you know I love Anne Helen Petersen, and in this piece, she talks about the gamification of everything. Why I was doing a walk after being so jet lagged I got sick to make my walking goal. Why I'm fighting people on Duolingo to be number 1. It's a really interesting read/interview!
Arrivederci!
