Happy Thursday - I have been sick all week and I feel like shit! I can't actually hear properly because of the head cold so that made working fun.
Yes I know.
No, don't tell me. I know I should have been resting.
Anyway jumping to the recs so I can go back to sleep.
- Despite being $1,600 for very little space, this is such a cute designed tiny home in Santa Monica, CA! Some of us have no designing techniques, which is why I love these videos so much and appreciate what they do with so little space - and how cute it is!
- As of midnight on the 14th, the actor's union will go on strike! There are so many articles out there about the CEOs and how they are super greedy, but this is an article from about 10 days ago - or well. The archive of a GQ article talking about D*vid Z*slav and how much of an asshole he is, but GQ pulled it because he threatened to pull a movie based on another GQ Article! God what a loser. I cannot believe my college had him for the commencement speaker. I'm not linking them, but there's a Deadline article that talks about how ceos are waiting for "writers to run out of money and lose their apartments" before beginning strike negotiations, and also a new report about how, for background actors, they're trying to get an AI scan of their face so they only have to pay them one day! What in the actual fuck. I'm tired.
- You know, I need to end this newsletter on a positive rec so this makes me laugh - the singer, Tom Candy (who has a song that I have never linked because LMAO it's a choice but it's a bop despite being weird), writes a song for a radio presenter...about him. Except it's great watching the man realize that the song is 100% about it and it's... kind of a bop!!
Idk y'all I'm tired. And it's not just the sickness nor the fact that I've been up since 4am today (which is definitely contributing). But like - so many people are so 100% for themselves that it's disheartening. I'm working while sick and everyone is like "sure we won't bother you but here's 300000 things I need done in the next hour so..." and the Hollywood strike is bumming me out. Disney, WB, and Netflix are having quite flop years but also pretending like they're not and everything kind of sucks!
I'm almost done this little D&D campaign I'm watching and when I do, I might just step away from the internet for a while. Things aren't great but the fresh air might do me some good.
*coughs and hacks*
Okay and I'll wear a mask while doing so.
Have a good weekend y'all.
