Hi! Happy Thursday.
*straight up forgot what day it was*
Sorry - it's been a strange week! I finally took some time for myself and went to the New York Botanical Garden with a friend and we discovered that our cheap/free (on Wednesdays!) New York tickets did NOT allow you Tram access so we were stuck hiking around the park like people who paid $0 dollars instead of people who paid $35 dollars! But it was beautiful :) But the downside is I have no idea what today is! I went to bed last night thinking it was Sunday.
I also dipped into another D&D show! Ah Dimension 20, you fill me with such glee and also take all of my time. I do not have time to do anything except watch your fun cast of characters role play silly situations, but I need to do things like pay my bills!!
I'm going to move into recommendations quickly because, again, it's late, and dinner is ready and I would be hungry if I didn't think I was strong enough to eat tteokbokki but then remembered I can't handle ANY spice so just had like a gallon of water instead :(
- Oh god I don't have anything prepared, what if.. Ah yes! BRIAN DAVID GILBERT HAS GOT ME. Another crazy video about maybe fighting your reflection, just like a bird. And we all know that watching birds is great.
- Man of Steel is one of my villain origin stories (I have about ten for people keeping count), but watching this video about how the color gradient could've been fixed is really fascinating. Sad for what actually happened (things got worse) but imagine...
- And SPEAKING of villain origin stories, I just recently finished a book that was a ...retelling? of Clytemnestra, sister of Helen of Troy, wife of Agamemnon, worst husband/father award since whenever he was alive. Fun fact - my 6th grade class did the Oresteian Trilogy (the story she's featured in), I played Clytemnestra. And there's something about being 12 (an age when you're already a bit unhinged), playing a woman whose anger is justified and to say I find her fascinating is an understatement. So I was incredibly happy to see how well this book portrays her. She's angry and enraged and protecting her family, and in a terrible situation and does what she can do. UGH I really enjoyed that book.
Also before I go - just - keep an eye on your neighbors y'all. I saw a kind of terrifying situation and I'm glad I was around to help but also it made me realize I live in a building of 72 apartments, and the only name I know is my super. .____.;
Anyway, have a lovely weekend y'all. Spend time outside. Drink water.
Please drink water. Don't have to challenge your friend to stop for a drink when you're both dehydrated walking up a hill to catch a train that will end up not moving because you are
cursed.
uh.
Bye!
