Welcome to a new week my friends! I’m assuming you all heard about Beyoncé’s newest single drop (and if you didn’t,
here you go). Beyoncé understands the 9-5 apparently! And encourages us all to quit our jobs! Yolo!!! But beyond that, world continues spinning along its strange little axis.
I wish I had fun news to impart to you dear friends!! I don’t but I do have fun links and that will be the theme of theme of this week. Just like - it’s summer. It’s not super hot right now so enjoy it before it’s 90 degrees again but hey when it’s 90 (AND NOT HUMID), why not sit outside in the shade and read a book? I finished an entire
book while in a park last Monday - it was delightful and cheesy and I got to watch people have fun in a park but hey - it was fun!
I do also suggest that if you've never worked in your current company's office OR you left a company a year plus ago, you should pop up in both offices within a week's time! Everyone will be shocked. No one quite knows how long you worked there (or even if you still work there)! No work will be done because they're too busy trying to conceptualize you as a living human being who is larger than the two inch Zoom video! I highly recommend!
But yeah - keep on keeping on and may you have a wonderful weekend!
- There was a fascinating article in Gawker about how American politics manage to get into every aspect of social media. Do I know a lot about Australian politics? Not particularly - so why should Australian's know why Ted Cruz might have messed up?? It's an interesting read.
- I just finished up the four part series of Critical Role Exandria Unlimited: Calamity, and I was talking with a friend and I just don’t think I like the main Critical Role series! It’s fine definitely but this series, which is set about 1000 years before the main series, just really engaged me in a similar way the other one shots or shorter series have. Maybe it's knowing there are only a certain amount of episodes that make me feel comfortable jumping in? Who knows. But within this story, there’s the chance that the characters might cause the destruction of the world (or might not!) but the way they tell the story was truly so beautiful. I don’t normally cry and yet!! I did!!! (Warning- it’s long. It’s only four episodes but episodes three and four are 11 hours total so watch accordingly.)
- Did you know peonies are in season? If you go to your local Trader Joes, they're about $10 bucks for five (which I KNOW I KNOW is kinda pricey??), but dang, are they pretty. Go get some! Go put some in your newly made pottery vase because of course you have one of those.
Many thanks to all of y'all for still reading, but also for letting the essays disappear for a few weeks! It's been.......... a time, and it's nice to still be able to share stuff with y'all. Toodles!
