my friends are my power!
Another week has trekked by and somehow we made it! I don't know about you all but last week was one of the longest and most terrible weeks of this year! But this week wasn't so bad. Gosh. Just trying to make it through this thing called life, huh?
I don't know about you all but this month has truly been like six months. Every day goes by slowly. Every week takes forever. Every hour is a chore to just push through. Even when I'm busy, it feels like the world has paused. Gosh we're about to hit the beginning of season three hellscape and it feels worse than ever!
But you know what you did not come here to be sad!
Have you ever consumed a piece of content that speaks to you, like deep in your atoms? Maybe at first you're like "well, that's enjoyable, I'll check out a few more episodes/chapters/hours" or whatever it is and then you realize that it slowly has become part of your emotional psyche?
It's truly one of those feelings that always like warms me to my core when I find another piece of media that just seems to get me. Y'all know I talk about Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X as though I'm being paid to (though... Square Enix, I WILL take a sponsorship!!!!), but I almost feel as though those don't count anymore. I started playing them when I was adorable and most importantly, significantly younger (about twelve?), and I've lived longer knowing about those games than I haven't (though, I don't really count ages 0-8 like... knowing things).
But when you consume some media as an adult and no matter how cringy or silly and you're just like yEEEES MY PEOPLE and when you're screaming at the screen/book/device to tell the characters not to be stupid but also that you want them to succeed but also grow as characters? Ugh. Or when the world building is so well done that you would give so much just to spend an hour running around in their world, no matter the consequences?
Such a wonderful feeling. I wonder if everyone feels that way some times. Gosh, well even if you've never felt that feeling, I do hope you're able to immerse yourself in whatever it is you enjoy, such as a crafting project, or maybe some wood work, or hell, maybe even staring into the void of space! I'm not one to judge.
Also just realized that last week's subject line was about friends too! Wow. This week is just a straight up Kingdom Hearts quote, so.... #sorrynotsorry.
Bye y'all.

- Anyway my first recommendation is the thing I'm talking about, lmao. I just finally after... what? Six/seven years? Started watching the anime My Hero Academia and everything on the surface of this show should truly make me hate it! A happy go lucky protagonist! A bunch of characters! The power of friendship! But WHEW BOY was I screaming in joy at the end of the first season! My silly characters worked together to use the power of friendship (and for some of them, just straight up murder??) to take down the enemies and I have not been so proud of a group of animated losers as I have in a long time. If you're debating checking it out, you should totally do so.
- I'm sure you have seen it but the viral video of the ski lodge with the weird ass stuff in the background? A delight! There's a woman struggling on some snowy stairs which is hilarious and the grinch being beaten up. We love to see it! Also speaking of people falling! This mascot struggling makes me laugh every time.
- I watched Tick...Tick...Boom! a few weeks ago and it was really good! I enjoyed. But wow I have been listening to one of the songs, 30/90 so much. What a lovely song to listen to when you recently turned 30 and realize you haven't accomplished even a fifth of what you wanted to. *screams into the void* I think my favorite line has to be "Why can't you stay 29? Hell, you still feel like you're 22!" which is.... a mood.
