Hello there friends and happy Thursday! To be fair, I know it's Thursday because of the calendar, and not because my soul feels like it is Thursday! It's straight up Tuesday for me! I have no clue what week this is!
We are halfway through the year of 2022 and my goodness everything is happening and so many things are bad!! Sometimes it's hard to even talk to people because it will be like "How are you? Minus (*insert the large amount of things that are wrong!*)?" Tres difficult.
I'm almost ready to show off my second session of pottery (I made a
berry bowl, I am so fancy -- actually as I look these up,
why are they so expensive oh my god.) But I made like 18 pieces and I'm proud of most of them! Wow, do I not know how to make handles! Handles are the worse! Either way, if you have a chance to do some pottery, as I've probably mentioned, I highly recommend. Stressful, exhausting, but also a nice way to do something with my hands and have a physical proof of something I made.
Once again, I don't have much today, but I hope you're able to find some positive joy in life! I had a wonderful weekend last weekend and bugs feasted upon my flesh for multiple days (which, lmao, OW), but it was a delight to see friends and be around lovely people even as the world seems to fall deeper and deeper into despair.
I read a grand total of seven books last month which is a new low! I'm honestly kind of proud. As mentioned previously, I need to read less, and consume more. So! Television (and other) recommendation time!!!!!
- If you're okay with violence and wtf-ery, you should check out The Boys. But since I mentioned that one already, if you're cool with violence more in the line of Squid Game, you should check out Alice in Borderlands on Netflix. WHEW BOY I did not know what I was getting into!
- The story centers around Arisu Ryohei and his two friends. Arisu is a NEET (not in education, employment, or training), and spends his days playing video games much to the annoyance of his family. His other friend works in a bar, and the other in a corporate job, but they all hate working and just like hanging out with each other. WHICH CHANGES when suddenly they end up in a world where there are no people. And the only information they can find out about their world is that they have to play a game. A deadly game. And once you win, you just have to keep playing... until... well. You'll find out.
- I was hooked into this show in a way that was so weird. It's marketed as a horror show and if you know me, you know I'm a wimp, but it's not horror at all (unless violence is horror for you. Please do not watch if you don't like violence!!). This show was intense, really fascinating, and kept me on my toes the entire time. Season two comes out in December and you know what? I gave up and read the source material because I needed to know!!! But if you end up watching, please let me know because I need to talk to someone about it!!
- Look Desus and Mero are hilarious but watching them clown on Jeremy Renner attempting to sing was such a wonderful thing that I frequently go back to.
- If you have not seen the current evolution of Chris Pine.... I gotchu fam. It's glorious. What is happening. He's morphing into his final form? Sephiroth WHOMST?? One Winged Angel WHAT?
Anyway! Have a good weekend and stay cool fam.
