Would you believe I am once again on a break! I have the ability to rest and if you know me at all, you know that resting is not a thing I do. But apparently I
legit rested and had fun because I FORGOT TO SEND THIS OUT. Surprise! I had this ready to go yesterday at the normal time but since I am ~on break~ I didn't know what day it was so I never hit send!
But it kind of makes it more beautiful because instead of it almost being the anniversary, it IS the official one year anniversary of this newsletter! When I first started this silly little thing, I really was like "how can I stop texting five people the same silly memes" and now there are more than five people who have endure my silly little memes!!! Not only silly little memes, but also weird links I've found (the bird husband will always stick out to me), as well as the weird essays!
You all got to endure the things that I was momentarily obsessed with, from Dave Grohl's memoir, a deep dive on the Sackler Family, and of course, my love of
Kingdom Hearts and the 20th anniversary of the first game. This past year has had some absolute shitty things, mainly political and work related, but I was also able to share with you lot many fun books, and life tidbits that I've found very useful (like, going outside!), and for that I am very grateful.
As I'm sure y'all can see from the last ~few weeks/months~ although things may be difficult, it's always really nice to get a response from this silly little newsletter. I've mentioned before that sometimes it feels like shouting into the void, which at times, is quite nice, but it's also nice when the void shouts back! Even knowing that one silly link brightened your day is such a wonderful feeling.
But also disconnecting from the void is also delightful! Fam, I got to try glassblowing (it was so much harder than anticipated), meet with a friend I only knew through Zoom (technically Google Hangout but whatever), and just have a wonderful time. If you're able to take time and log off and enjoy ~nature, you totally should. Also find someone who will appreciate you reciting this entire scene from
Kingdom Hearts on your first meeting! Besties for LIFE, confirmed.
Anyway this is sappy and I have a train to catch for my next adventure, so once again, thank you for reading this silly little drivel. Especially y'all who have been annoyed by me since day one! Props.
Onto links!
